Meet The Grandparents

Posted by Kevin.......

Henry met his other Grandma and Grandpa this past weekend. He took a few moments to figure out why these new people were here, and in no time was smiling and raising his arms to be picked up.

Grandma told him stories about when his daddy was a baby, and Grandpa told stories about everything else in the world.

Henry and I took my Mom and Pop on a little Minnesota road trip to Lake City. After only a brief stop, we head over to Red Wing for lunch. Frankly, it seemed like in between oohing and aaahing over their new grandson, my folks were always on the lookout for nice places to eat. I think Henry, Stace and I ate out more this weekend then we have since we had the baby.

While in Northfield, my folks stayed at the historic Archer House in downtown Northfield. We all decided they would be more comfortable in a spacious and quiet hotel room. The irony was not lost when we discovered their room was quite small. I mean tiny. And of course the train came by several times each night, blowing it's horn numerous times at the nearby crossing.

The weather was perfect, and there was even a fun surprise.... a Jesse James bank raid reenactment! No one seemed to know it was going to happen.

Of course I suppose some real robbers could have just dressed up as cowboys and road into town and robbed the bank and folks would be like, "Hey look! They're doing a reenactment. Yeah! Grab yer guns boys, they're robbin' the bank. Yippy! Say, that guy ain't getting up......"
